The Lamayuru to Hemis Trek is an exciting journey that starts at the famous Lamayuru Monastery and takes you through some of Ladakh’s most stunning landscapes. On the third day, after crossing Hinju near Kongskila, you enter the Hemis National Park, where you will trek approximately 80 km before reaching Martselang near Hemis.
Wildlife & Birdwatching in Hemis National Park
This park is home to rare wildlife, including the Snow Leopard, Ibex, Blue Sheep, Tibetan Wolf, Red Fox, Marmot, and Eurasian Lynx. While Snow Leopards are tough to spot in summer, you can still see a variety of birds such as the Snow Partridge, Golden Eagle, Snow Cock, and Red-Billed Chough.
Chilling & Markha Valley Exploration
At Chilling, you cross the river using a cable trolley, where a fresh set of ponies carries the gear.
